Questa informativa spiega, senza giri di parole, quali dati tratta l’app Kmap (“Karpathos con Ale Map”), dove finiscono e cosa puoi fare tu.

2. Quali dati tratta l’app, uno per uno

a) Statistiche d’uso anonime

L’app registra quando viene aperta, quali schermate vengono visitate, il tipo di telefono (iPhone o Android) e, se qualcosa va storto, il messaggio tecnico dell’errore. Servono solo a capire quali sezioni sono utili e cosa non funziona.

A questi dati è associato un codice casuale generato dall’app al primo avvio e conservato sul telefono. Non contiene il tuo nome, la tua email o il numero di telefono, e non è collegato al tuo account Apple o Google: serve solo a non contare venti volte la stessa persona. Poiché però resta lo stesso nel tempo, la legge europea lo considera comunque un dato personale, e per questo te ne parliamo qui.

Puoi spegnere le statistiche in qualsiasi momento dall’app: Impostazioni → Privacy → “Statistiche anonime”. Da spente, non parte più nulla.

b) Voti a stelle e recensioni scritte

Se dai un voto o scrivi una recensione su un luogo, salviamo su un server: il luogo, il numero di stelle, il testo che hai scritto, la data e lo stesso codice casuale del punto (a). Non chiediamo né mostriamo il tuo nome: le recensioni appaiono senza autore.

Le recensioni scritte non sono pubbliche subito: restano in attesa finché non vengono lette e approvate a mano. Quelle offensive o fuori tema vengono rifiutate e non compaiono mai.

c) Segnalazioni fatte dalla spiaggia

Solo se sei tu a premere il pulsante, puoi segnalare com’è il mare in quel momento oppure il prezzo di ombrelloni e lettini. In quel caso l’app invia: la spiaggia, quello che hai indicato, la data e un codice casuale.

Insieme viene inviata anche la tua posizione GPS di quel momento, che serve solo a verificare che tu sia davvero in quella spiaggia (un prezzo segnalato dal divano non varrebbe niente). La posizione viene usata per il controllo e non viene salvata: nel registro resta la segnalazione, non le tue coordinate.

d) La tua posizione sulla mappa

Il permesso di posizione è facoltativo e viene chiesto solo “durante l’uso”. Serve a mostrarti dove sei sulla mappa e a calcolare la distanza dai luoghi. Questa posizione resta sul tuo telefono: non la salviamo e non la inviamo da nessuna parte. L’app funziona anche se neghi il permesso.

e) Preferiti, impostazioni e cuori

Luoghi salvati, lingua, tema e le altre preferenze sono memorizzati sul tuo telefono. Si eliminano dall’app o disinstallandola.

Una parte fa eccezione, dal 26 agosto 2026. Gli elenchi delle spiagge e dei ristoranti sono ordinati per cuori ricevuti: più cuori prende un posto, più sale. Perché quell’ordine possa esistere, il totale deve stare in un posto solo e non su ciascun telefono.

Quindi, quando metti o togli un cuore a una spiaggia o a un ristorante, l’app invia a un server l’elenco di quelli che hai messo, insieme allo stesso codice casuale del punto (a). I cuori messi su tutto il resto — chiese, negozi, trekking, ogni altro luogo — non partono: restano sul telefono come prima.

Dal server l’app legge soltanto il totale per posto — quanti cuori ha ricevuto una spiaggia — e mai chi li ha messi. Non c’è nessun punto dell’app in cui si possa vedere cosa ha salvato una persona.

Se togli il cuore, la riga corrispondente sul server viene cancellata e il totale scende.

f) Quando ci scrivi

I pulsanti di contatto e feedback aprono la tua app di posta o WhatsApp con un messaggio già pronto: sei tu a decidere se e cosa inviare. Le email arrivano a info@kmap.gr e vengono usate solo per risponderti.

g) L’account, se decidi di scrivere

Leggere la Community e i racconti non richiede nessun account. Serve solo per scrivere: aprire una discussione, rispondere, commentare o pubblicare un racconto di viaggio.

Per entrare ti chiediamo solo il tuo indirizzo email. Non c’è nessuna password da inventare: arriva un codice di sei cifre, lo scrivi e sei dentro. Se preferisci, puoi usare Google o Apple, e in quel caso riceviamo dal loro servizio il tuo indirizzo email e nient’altro.

Conserviamo: l’indirizzo email (non è mai visibile agli altri utenti), il nome con cui scegli di firmarti — quello sì pubblico, e puoi cambiarlo o non metterlo affatto, restando “Viaggiatore” — la lingua e la data di iscrizione.

Le email dei codici di accesso partono da Brevo, un servizio di invio posta con server nell’Unione Europea.

h) Quello che pubblichi

Discussioni, risposte, commenti e racconti di viaggio sono pubblici: li vede chiunque abbia l’app, anche chi non è entrato. Accanto compare il nome con cui ti firmi e la data.

Detto con chiarezza, perché è la cosa più importante di questa pagina: non scrivere in un contenuto pubblico informazioni che non vuoi rendere pubbliche — il tuo indirizzo, il numero della camera, i dati di altre persone.

I contenuti dei nuovi iscritti possono restare in attesa di approvazione prima di comparire. Un moderatore può nascondere un contenuto che viola le regole: in quel caso non è più visibile a nessuno, ma resta nel database, perché una decisione presa di fretta si deve poter disfare.

Se segnali un contenuto, salviamo la segnalazione con il motivo che hai scelto e il tuo identificativo, così lo stesso contenuto non viene esaminato dieci volte. Chi hai segnalato non lo sa.

Puoi anche bloccare una persona: da quel momento non vedi più quello che scrive. Conserviamo l'elenco di chi hai bloccato, perché resti valido anche cambiando telefono. Chi viene bloccato non lo sa, e nessuno può sapere chi lo ha bloccato. Si disfa da Impostazioni → Persone bloccate.

i) Le foto che alleghi ai tuoi racconti

Se pubblichi un racconto puoi allegare fino a cinque foto. Per sceglierle l’app chiede il permesso di accedere alla galleria del telefono: è facoltativo, si può negare, e il racconto si scrive lo stesso. L’app non guarda le altre foto e non ne legge l’elenco: si apre la finestra di sistema, tu scegli quali, e solo quelle arrivano a noi.

Prima di partire ogni foto viene rimpicciolita sul tuo telefono e i dati nascosti dello scatto — fra cui il luogo esatto dove è stata scattata — non vengono letti né inviati.

Le foto pubblicate sono visibili a tutti e raggiungibili tramite il loro indirizzo web. Se il racconto viene cancellato, le sue foto vengono cancellate con lui.

j) Il tasto “Traduci”

Sotto i contenuti scritti in una lingua diversa dalla tua compare il tasto “Traduci”. Se lo premi, quel testo viene mandato a un servizio di traduzione automatica e la traduzione viene salvata, così la seconda persona che preme il tasto non la fa rifare da capo. Non parte niente se non lo premi.

Strumento usato: Cloudflare Workers AI. Il testo serve solo a produrre la traduzione e non viene usato per addestrare nulla.

3. Cosa NON facciamo

• Nessuna pubblicità e nessun tracciamento pubblicitario.
• Non vendiamo, non affittiamo e non cediamo dati a nessuno.
• Per leggere l’app non chiediamo registrazione, nome, email o numero di telefono. L’email serve solo a chi vuole scrivere nella Community, e non è mai visibile agli altri utenti.
• Non chiediamo mai una password: si entra con un codice che arriva per email.
• Non incrociamo i dati dell’app con quelli dei social o di altri siti.
• Non leggiamo la tua galleria fotografica: vediamo solo le foto che scegli tu, una per una.

4. Servizi esterni che l’app utilizza

Quando l’app chiede qualcosa a questi servizi, il tuo indirizzo IP è tecnicamente visibile a loro, come accade con qualsiasi sito o app. Non lo conserviamo noi.

5. Perché possiamo trattare questi dati

• Statistiche d’uso: il tuo consenso, che puoi ritirare in qualsiasi momento con l’interruttore in Impostazioni.
• Voti e recensioni, cuori, segnalazioni dalla spiaggia: sei tu a inviarli volontariamente per far funzionare quella funzione (esecuzione del servizio che chiedi).
• Moderazione delle recensioni: l’interesse legittimo a non pubblicare contenuti offensivi o falsi.
• Account e contenuti della Community: l’esecuzione del servizio che ci chiedi. Senza un indirizzo email non è possibile farti entrare, né ridarti l’accesso a quello che hai scritto.
• Foto allegate ai racconti: sei tu a sceglierle e a pubblicarle.
• Moderazione della Community e segnalazioni: l’interesse legittimo a mantenere uno spazio utilizzabile, e l’obbligo di rimuovere i contenuti illeciti.
• Traduzione automatica: la premi tu, quando la vuoi.

6. Per quanto tempo restano

• Statistiche d’uso: massimo 12 mesi, poi vengono eliminate.
• Voti e recensioni: finché l’app resta attiva o finché non ne chiedi la cancellazione. Le recensioni rifiutate vengono eliminate periodicamente.
• Segnalazioni di condizioni e prezzi: restano come registro storico (servono a capire quanto sbagliano le previsioni), senza posizione e senza dati di contatto.
• Preferiti e impostazioni: finché non li cancelli tu o disinstalli l’app.
• Cuori di spiagge e ristoranti: sul server restano finché tieni il cuore. Se lo togli dall’app, la riga viene cancellata subito.
• Account: finché lo tieni. Se chiedi di chiuderlo, l’indirizzo email viene cancellato.
• Quello che hai pubblicato e le sue foto: finché non li cancelli tu o non chiudi l’account. Un contenuto nascosto da un moderatore non è più visibile a nessuno ma resta nel database, per poter tornare indietro se la decisione era sbagliata.
• Traduzioni salvate: seguono il contenuto tradotto; se quello sparisce, spariscono anche loro.

7. I tuoi diritti (GDPR)

Hai diritto di sapere quali dati ti riguardano, farli correggere, farli cancellare, opporti al trattamento e ricevere una copia dei tuoi dati. In pratica, nell’app:

• Spegnere le statistiche: Impostazioni → Privacy → “Statistiche anonime”.
• Cancellare i tuoi dati: Impostazioni → Privacy → “Cancella i miei dati”. Il pulsante cancella tutto quello che è sul telefono, cancella dal server i cuori che avevi messo e genera un nuovo codice casuale, così i dati vecchi non sono più collegabili a te. Ti propone anche una email già pronta per chiedere la rimozione delle recensioni che avevi lasciato.
• Cancellare quello che hai pubblicato: ogni racconto e ogni messaggio si cancella da dentro l’app, dal contenuto stesso.
• Chiudere l’account: scrivici a info@kmap.gr dallo stesso indirizzo con cui sei entrato, e ci pensiamo noi. Puoi dirci se vuoi che i tuoi contenuti spariscano con l’account o restino senza il tuo nome: decidi tu.
• Scriverci: info@kmap.gr. Rispondiamo entro 30 giorni. Ti basta indicare il codice che trovi in Impostazioni → Privacy.

Hai inoltre diritto di presentare reclamo all’autorità di controllo del tuo Paese (in Italia, il Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).

8. Minori

Consultare l’app — mappa, spiagge, sentieri, meteo, orari — è adatto a tutti. Non chiediamo dati identificativi a chi legge e non profiliamo nessuno.

Per scrivere nella Community o pubblicare un racconto bisogna avere almeno 16 anni. Il motivo è semplice: serve un indirizzo email, e sotto quell’età la legge europea chiede il consenso di un genitore, che noi non siamo in grado di verificare davvero.

Se ci accorgiamo che un account è di una persona più giovane, lo chiudiamo e cancelliamo quello che ha scritto. Se sei un genitore e pensi che tuo figlio abbia aperto un account, scrivici a info@kmap.gr: lo chiudiamo senza chiedere altro.

Tutto quello che viene pubblicato può essere segnalato da chiunque, e i contenuti dei nuovi iscritti possono passare da un controllo prima di comparire.

9. Modifiche a questa informativa

Gli aggiornamenti vengono pubblicati su questa pagina con la data di revisione aggiornata in alto. Se cambia qualcosa di importante, lo segnaliamo anche dentro l’app.

This notice explains, in plain words, what data the Kmap (“Karpathos con Ale Map”) app processes, where it goes and what you can do about it.

1. Data controller

2. What the app processes, item by item

a) Anonymous usage statistics

The app records when it is opened, which screens are visited, the device type (iPhone or Android) and, if something breaks, the technical error message. This is used only to understand which sections are useful and what is not working.

A random code, generated on first launch and stored on your phone, is attached to this data. It contains no name, email or phone number and is not linked to your Apple or Google account: it exists only so the same person is not counted twenty times. Because it stays the same over time, however, European law still treats it as personal data — which is why we describe it here.

You can switch statistics off at any time in the app: Settings → Privacy → “Anonymous statistics”. Once off, nothing is sent.

Tool used: PostHog, servers in the European Union.

b) Star ratings and written reviews

If you rate or review a place, we store on a server: the place, the number of stars, your text, the date and the same random code as in (a). We neither ask for nor display your name: reviews appear without an author.

Written reviews are not public immediately: they wait until they are read and approved by hand. Offensive or off-topic reviews are rejected and never appear.

c) Reports sent from the beach

Only if you press the button, you can report the current sea conditions or the price of umbrellas and sunbeds. In that case the app sends: the beach, what you selected, the date and a random code.

Your current GPS position is sent along with it, for the sole purpose of checking that you really are at that beach (a price reported from your sofa would be worthless). The position is used for the check and is not stored: the log keeps the report, not your coordinates.

Tool used: Cloudflare Workers.

d) Your position on the map

The location permission is optional and requested only “while using the app”. It shows where you are on the map and computes distances to places. This position stays on your phone: we do not store it and do not send it anywhere. The app works if you deny the permission.

e) Favourites, settings and hearts

Saved places, language, theme and other preferences are stored on your phone. They are removed from within the app or by uninstalling it.

One part is an exception, since 26 August 2026. The beach and restaurant lists are ordered by hearts received: the more hearts a place gets, the higher it climbs. For that order to exist at all, the total has to live in one single place rather than on each phone.

So when you add or remove a heart on a beach or a restaurant, the app sends a server the list of the ones you have added, together with the same random code as in (a). Hearts on everything else — churches, shops, hikes, any other place — are not sent: they stay on your phone as before.

From the server the app reads only the total per place — how many hearts a beach has received — and never who added them. There is no point in the app where anyone can see what a given person has saved.

If you remove the heart, the matching row on the server is deleted and the total goes down.

f) When you write to us

Contact and feedback buttons open your own email or WhatsApp app with a pre-filled message: you decide whether and what to send. Emails reach info@kmap.gr and are used only to reply to you.

g) The account, if you decide to write

Reading the Community and the travel stories requires no account. You only need one to write: to start a discussion, reply, comment or publish a story.

To sign in we ask for your email address only. There is no password to invent: a six-digit code arrives, you type it in and you are in. You may also use Google or Apple, and in that case their service gives us your email address and nothing else.

We keep: your email address (never visible to other users), the name you choose to sign with — that one is public, and you can change it or leave it out entirely and stay “Traveller” — your language and the date you joined.

The emails carrying the sign-in codes are sent through Brevo, a mail delivery service with servers in the European Union.

h) What you publish

Discussions, replies, comments and travel stories are public: anyone with the app can read them, including people who have not signed in. The name you sign with and the date appear next to them.

Said plainly, because it is the most important line on this page: do not put in a public post anything you do not want to be public — your address, your room number, other people's details.

Posts by newly joined users may be held for approval before they appear. A moderator can hide content that breaks the rules: it then becomes invisible to everyone, but it stays in the database, because a decision made in a hurry must be reversible.

If you report something, we store the report with the reason you picked and your identifier, so the same content is not reviewed ten times over. The person you reported is not told.

You can also block a person: from then on you stop seeing what they write. We keep the list of who you blocked, so it still holds if you change phone. The blocked person is not told, and nobody can find out who blocked them. You can undo it in Settings → Blocked people.

i) Photos attached to your stories

When you publish a story you may attach up to five photos. To pick them, the app asks for permission to access your phone's photo library: it is optional, you can say no, and the story can be written anyway. The app does not look at your other photos and does not read the list: the system picker opens, you choose which ones, and only those reach us.

Before leaving your phone each photo is resized on the device, and the hidden data inside the shot — including the exact place where it was taken — is neither read nor sent.

Published photos are visible to everyone and reachable through their web address. If the story is deleted, its photos are deleted with it.

j) The “Translate” button

Under content written in a language other than yours, a “Translate” button appears. If you press it, that text is sent to an automatic translation service and the translation is stored, so the next person who presses the button does not pay for it again. Nothing is sent if you do not press it.

Tool used: Cloudflare Workers AI. The text is used only to produce the translation and is not used to train anything.

3. What we do NOT do

• No advertising and no advertising tracking.
• We do not sell, rent or share data with anyone.
• No sign-up, name, email or phone number is required to read the app. The email is only for those who want to write in the Community, and it is never visible to other users.
• We never ask for a password: you sign in with a code sent to your email.
• We do not combine app data with social networks or other websites.
• We do not read your photo library: we only ever see the photos you pick yourself, one by one.

4. Third-party services used by the app

When the app asks something of these services, your IP address is technically visible to them, as with any website or app. We do not store it ourselves.

5. Legal basis

• Usage statistics: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the switch in Settings.
• Ratings, reviews, hearts and beach reports: you send them voluntarily to use that feature (performance of the service you request).
• Review moderation: the legitimate interest in not publishing offensive or false content.
• Account and Community content: performance of the service you ask for. Without an email address we cannot sign you in, nor give you back access to what you wrote.
• Photos attached to stories: you pick them and you publish them.
• Community moderation and reports: the legitimate interest in keeping the space usable, and the obligation to remove unlawful content.
• Automatic translation: you press the button, when you want it.

6. How long data is kept

• Usage statistics: 12 months at most, then deleted.
• Ratings and reviews: as long as the app is active, or until you ask for deletion. Rejected reviews are deleted periodically.
• Condition and price reports: kept as a historical log (they show how far the forecast was off), without position and without contact data.
• Favourites and settings: until you delete them or uninstall the app.
• Hearts on beaches and restaurants: they stay on the server as long as you keep the heart. Remove it in the app and the row is deleted straight away.
• Account: as long as you keep it. If you ask us to close it, the email address is deleted.
• What you published and its photos: until you delete them or close your account. Content hidden by a moderator is no longer visible to anyone but stays in the database, so a wrong decision can be undone.
• Stored translations: they follow the content they belong to; if that goes, they go too.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

You have the right to know what data concerns you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to processing and to receive a copy. In practice, in the app:

• Switch statistics off: Settings → Privacy → “Anonymous statistics”.
• Delete your data: Settings → Privacy → “Delete my data”. The button erases everything stored on the phone, deletes from the server the hearts you had added and generates a new random code, so the old data can no longer be linked to you. It also offers a pre-filled email to request removal of any reviews you left.
• Delete what you published: every story and every message can be deleted from inside the app, from the content itself.
• Close your account: write to info@kmap.gr from the same address you signed in with, and we will handle it. Tell us whether you want your content to go with the account or stay without your name: it is your call.
• Write to us: info@kmap.gr. We reply within 30 days. Just quote the code shown in Settings → Privacy.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of your country.

8. Children

Browsing the app — map, beaches, trails, weather, timetables — is suitable for everyone. We ask no identifying data from readers and we profile nobody.

To write in the Community or publish a story you must be at least 16. The reason is simple: it takes an email address, and below that age European law requires a parent's consent, which we have no real way to verify.

If we find that an account belongs to someone younger, we close it and delete what they wrote. If you are a parent and believe your child has opened an account, write to info@kmap.gr: we will close it, no questions asked.

Anything published can be reported by anyone, and posts by newly joined users may be checked before they appear.

9. Changes to this notice

Updates are published on this page with the revision date updated at the top. If something important changes, we also announce it inside the app.
